Abandon ship! By Giles
“What’s out there?” Callum cried, all of us were stunned. There were two boats coming at roughly fifty kilometres an hour. “Quick! Jump into the lifeboat!” Shouted Millie over the noise of the crying wind.
Umph! I landed with a thud. “What did you bring Luke?” I asked. “Twenty litres of water so we don’t die of thirst!” I felt like saying ‘good thinking’ but there was no time to waste. “Callum what did you bring?” I asked in a hurry.
“Two spare oars in case one brakes.”
“Well I brought a sail and a mast so at night we can sleep and still move forward.”
We all suddenly turned to Millie. “What did you bring?” We all asked in concern. “Just an axe and a gun” She showed us them both. We all jumped back and fell into the water.
After we got back into the boat the first thing we did was make up a song to keep us occupied. “Row, row, row your lifeboat gently down the Pacific, if you see a great white don’t forget to kill it! BANG!”
Two hours later after a sweaty time rowing…
“Row, row, row your lifeboat…gently…down…the… Pacific… don’t forget to……..” We all fell asleep and suddenly… ‘Pooooooffff!”
“Oh yuck Luke!” We all fell asleep again.
Wack! We hit something hard. Luke, Callum and I went flying off the boat. “We made it! We actually made it!” I screamed with all my might.
