Clay Tiles

Hi, I’m from Room 17 and I’ve had so much fun successfully

making my own unique clay tile. At first when Mrs. Susnjak told us we were

doing clay tiles I was so nervous. I’m normally not that great at art but no sooner had we started I was amazed by how interesting it was.

Most of the seniors have been doing clay tiles as well but Room 17’s tiles are original because we chose the theme of houses. To make them interesting we each collected items such as pencils, Lego bricks, screws, and lots of other things to press cool patterns into the tiles. After that we spray painted them gold or silver. I thought they looked great! Well, that’s what I thought… why don’t we take a look at what the other students thought?

Phoenix says, “It was hard to get rid of the crusty clay when I put the toothpick through the tile.”

Corbin said, “I thought it was fun to spray paint my tile gold.”

“They were hard to do because we had to make them the right size,” said Alyx.
