What opportunities does Greenhithe School offer children with special abilities?

Each syndicate organises cross-grouping for those children who need to work with others of the same ability for maths and reading. We also run a GATE (Gifted and talented ) programme for those children identified by tests (such as ProEd), by the GATE staff and by the classroom teachers.

Does the school have a before or after school provision?

There is an after school care facility run by Jiggerbobs in Room 26 from 3pm - 6pm. Please see the office staff for details.

What should I do if my child is going to be absent from school?

Please ring the office by 9am and advise.

What are the arrangements if my child becomes sick at school?

Children are sent to the office with a note from the teacher. The First Aid trained office staff tend to the child in the sick bay and the parents are rung. It is important that you advise the school office immediately if you have a change of phone number.

How am I able to find out about my child’s progress at school?

The teachers will be happy to discuss your child’s progress informally at any time. There is a teacher/parent interview twice yearly (Term 1 and 3) and currently reports are sent home in Terms 2 and 4.
