Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - School

Each syndicate plans homework activities each term which are designed to complement the class programmes.  These are commonly reading based, spelling, inquiry learning and may include learning basic facts.

There are stationery forms available from the foyer in the office, or you can ask the class teacher.

Yes the school uniform is expected to be worn by all children and this can be purchased from the uniform shop at school or online from the Uniform Centre - www.schooluniformcentre.co.nz.

There are a range of programmes available if a child is identified as having learning difficulties.  These include buddy readers, Lexile reading, cross grouping, small group support, Learning Through Talk and Reading Recovery.  If more support is needed, our Sencos (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinators) become involved and contact the appropriate agencies.

Any incident reported by a child about verbal or physical bullying is dealt with immediately by the teacher, duty teacher, Deputy Principal or Principal, as applicable.  Our school has a policy of zero tolerance to any form of bullying.

Most concerns are best dealt with by the class teacher.  If necessary this can be followed up with a meeting with a Syndicate team leader, Deputy Principal or the Principal.

The current fees are $220 per year reducing to $200 if this is paid by the end of Term 2. We also ask for a $60 annual fee which helps to cover the cost of trips out of school and visits in school. This can be paid termly.
