Our Latest Publication
We have been learning to write Fairy Tales. We each wrote one part of this story. We tried to include humour, description and interesting sentence starters in our writing. After we edited and published our work we created some beautiful pastel and dye illustrations to go with it. We have put it all together in a book which we're going to let some other classes borrow to read.
Here is our story. We hope you enjoy reading it! Come into Room 12 to have a look a look at the illustrations.
Little Red Rosy Shoes
Written By Room 12
Once upon a time there was a beautiful and cheerful girl called Little Red Rosy Shoes. She was called that because she wore flowers on her shoes wherever she went. She lived in an averaged sized cottage near the woods.
One sunny day Little Red Rosy Shoes’ mum told her to take a chocolate cake to her Grandma’s because she was sick.
Little Red Rosy Shoes made the best chocolate cake she had ever made in her lifetime. Better than the one she made in the cake competition she had won. While Little Red Rosy Shoes was packing the chocolate cake in her special basket that her Grandma had given her her mum told her not to talk to strangers on the way and to stay on the path.
She promised her mum and she was off. Later on she was skipping through the forest when she suddenly met a scruffy looking bear!!!
Little Red Rosy Shoes forgot her mother’s warnings. The bear asked her, “Where are you going?”
“I’m going to my Grandma’s house,” replied Little Red Rosy Shoes.
The big fat chubby bear was very, very hungry. He thought that he was very smart so he could chew up Little Red Rosy Shoes as well as Grandma at once. So he told her to pick some beautiful roses.
Little Red Rosy Shoes thought it was a fantastic idea to go and pick some beautiful red roses for her poor old grandma lying in bed sick. So Little Red Rosy Shoes went and picked some.
Meanwhile the big fuzzy bear went to Grandma’s house. When the bear knocked on the door Grandma croaked, “Who is it?”
Then the bear replied in his girly voice, “It’s me, Little Red Rosy Shoes”.
Grandma croaked back, “Oh come in dear.”
Suddenly the big fuzzy bear pounced onto Grandma’s bed and ate up poor Grandma with one huge gulp!
Then the bear rushed to Grandma’s bedside cabinet and found one of her nightgowns. He put it on and snuggled up into Grandma’s bed. Then he waited for Little Red Rosy Shoes to arrive.
10 minutes later Little Red Rosy Shoes had just finished picking flowers from the bank. She realised she was late for her Grandma’s house so she ran as fast as her life could take her. When she got there she saw the door wide open and went in.
When Little Red Rosy Shoes saw Grandma she said, “Holey moley! Your eyes are so big they are almost popping out of your sockets!”
“Yes dear. All the better to see your lovely little face with sweetheart.”
“Oh what big ears you have Grandma.”
“I have a big earache Little Red Rosy Shoes.”
“But I didn’t know that you had an earache. You must stay in bed for a week,” replied Little Red Rosy Shoes. “Here you go, I brought you a scrumptious, beautiful cake Grandma,” she said.
“It is wonderful to see you Little Red Rosy Shoes,” answered the bear in a croaky voice.
“Oh what massive teeth you have grandmother!” squealed Little Red Rosy Shoes.
Suddenly the bear sprang out of bed at once and ATE up Little Red Rosy Shoes!
That afternoon a hunter was hunting for bears. When he saw an old lady’s door was open he peered through the window to see if anything was wrong. He saw a big fat scruffy bear on Grandma’s bed. He could not believe his eyes and he realised what had happened so he barged in.
Then the huntsman grabbed his hunting knife and slit the bear’s tummy open. Out of the tummy popped Little Red Rosy Shoes and Grandma completely unharmed. Then the huntsman pulled the bear outside.
Little Red Rosy Shoes and Grandma were so happy. Grandma asked the huntsman, “Do you want some coffee?”
He said, “Yes please!”
So they sat down and had coffee and scrumptious chocolate cake and they lived happily ever after.
