Here are a few of our Recounts about our trip to the zoo. Even though it rained we had a fun, interesting day.

Going to the Zoo by Emily Parker

Last Friday the middle school went to the Auckland Zoo to learn about habitats and predators.
First we had a look at the Kiwis. It was exciting because the Kiwi was right by the glass.
Next we went to look at the giraffes. The baby giraffe was getting fed from its mummy. We saw the zebras eating hay, there were three of the zebras.
After that we went and saw the springboks and the rhinoceros. There was a peacock in with the rhinoceros and springbok.
Suddenly we went to see the lions. They were sleeping in the rain.
Then we saw the pink flamingos. They were all drinking from the stream.
Just then we saw the elephant, it was eating his hay.
Then we saw the hippos. They were in the mud.
After that we saw the sea lions swimming around in the water.
Then we went to see the parrots. We fed the parrots milk.
Just then we had morning tea. After morning tea we went to see the kangaroos. That was cool. Then we had lunch. It was yummy.
Then we went to the teaching room to learn about habitat. After teaching we had a little look around the classroom at the animals.
Just then we got ready to go back to school. I had a great time at the zoo with the parrots. I liked feeding the parrots because it felt good.

The Zoo by Samuel Gordon

Last Friday he middle school went to the Auckland Zoo to learn about animal habitat and predators. First we went and saw the kiwis. We saw one kiwi run past us. Then we went to the Pride Lands. We saw some giraffes and zebras and ostriches.
After that we saw the lions, they were all fast asleep.
Next we saw the sea lions, they were being fed fish. Then we had morning tea. After that we saw alligators. We went to the meerkat tunnels. It was dark but fun. After that we had lunch. Next we went to see the spider monkeys. They were loud. Then we saw the tarantulas.
Then we went to the Education Room, where we got to see a lizard get fed three crunchy snails. Then we left.
My favourite bit was the meerkat tunnels because it was dark and cold.

The Zoo by Finn Laville-Moore

On Friday Room 25 went to the zoo. We went there because we are learning about habitats.
When we got there we had Brain Break. After that we entered the Pride Lands. We saw all sorts of animals like white rhinos and giraffes and springboks. When we exited the Pride Lands we saw these huts, one had stuff in it.
Next we saw the lions. I drew one asleep, it was funny. After that we saw baby cubs. Then we saw some flamingos, they were ducking under the water probably looking for food.
Next we saw a couple of animals like eels, alligators and spider monkeys and then the meerkat’s tunnels and domes. It was like a maze but it was an easy one to just find the darkest tunnel.
Then it was the Learning Centre. It was fun!
Finally we went back to school and it was home time.
My favourite part was seeing the meerkats because I like darkness.
