Regina's Maritime Museum Experience

Thump! Thump! Thump! My heart was racing with excitement as I thought about our trip to the Maritime Museum. The thought of going to the museum ate into my mind as I sat down at my desk. I had a tiny voice that echoed in my head. It was whispering, “It’s probably got something important to do with our inquiry.” I knew what our Term 4 inquiry topic was. History! I read it in the newsletter my mum got from her email. The thought of our trip soaked deeper and deeper through my mind until the school bell rang.

The bus jumped a little before it lurched forward and I snapped out of the thought of our exciting trip but it wasn’t long before I started thinking about it again. Hundreds…no thousands…no millions of questions were flying inside my head. “What will the museum look like? What will we do there? Am I going to have lots of fun?” As soon as we hopped off the bus, excitement overtook my thoughts.

I tried very hard to keep my excitement bubble inside me but it went loose as soon as I saw the Maritime Museum. The only thing I was thinking about as I walked in was “Wow! This is really cool!” I was surprised when I saw the inside of the museum, what stood out the most was the boats. Boats here, boats there, boats everywhere.

The first thing I did was go on the sailing boat. My first impression of the boat was thinking, ‘Isn’t it good luck if you name a boat a girls name? I wonder why they named it Ted Ashby?’
