Miniball/Basketball

Miniball is a modified version of basketball. The biggest point of difference is the hoop height.  Boys and girls can either play in a mixed or straight boys/girls competition.

Year 5 children play on a Thursday afternoon/night at the North Shore YMCA in Akoranga Drive

Year 6 children play on a Friday afternoon/night at the North Shore YMCA in Akoranga Drive.

This year we are hoping to enter Year 3 & 4 teams in to the Tuesday afternoon competition at the North Shore Events Centre.

Season Dates:                    All year

Fees:                                      Approximately $60 a semester (two terms)

Uniform/Equipment:    Greenhithe School sports top, dark shorts, appropriate footwear

Hockey

Hockey is played on a Monday night at the North Harbour Stadium in Albany for Year 3-6 students.

Teams are finalised by the end of term one with most students being placed with friends. Some of the teams are straight boys or girls and some of them are mixed. This depends solely on numbers.

Netball

Netball is available for Year 2-6 students. Year 2-4 play on a Saturday at Pinehurst School, Year 5 play on a Monday afternoon/night and Year 6 play on a Wednesday afternoon/night. They both play  at AMI Netball Courts, Onewa Domain. Year 4's also have the option of playing on a Monday night at AMI Netball Courts if they prefer. Trials are held for all teams apart from Year 2's.

Fees:                                           $60

Touch

Touch is played on a Monday afternoon at Marist Rugby Club, Albany. Boys and girls can play in a mixed team or in a straight boys or girls team. We do our best to place students in teams with  their friends. Team practices are held either before or after school.

Season Dates:                   Term 4

Fees:                                     $35

Uniform Equipment:     School polo shirt, navy or black shorts and sneakers

Rugby (Rippa)

Rippa rugby is a non-contact version of rugby with both boys and girls playing in composite teams. Greenhithe School is affiliated to the Massey Module. There are 3 - 4 tournaments in a year. Team practices and all games are in school time.

Fees:                                    $4 per child

Uniform/Equipment:  Greenhithe Sports top, dark shorts. Rips provided by the school.

Rugby (Tackle)

Tackle rugby is played at the Massey Module (see above). It is an open weight competition. There is no pushing in the scrum or contesting of lineouts. Each year a decision is made if Greenhithe School enters a team. This solely depends on if we have a Coach who has done their Level One Coaching Rugby Course.

Flippaball

Flippaball is a modified version of waterpolo. Teams are made up of both boys and girls. Flippaball is played at the Millennium Institute of Sport  on a Sunday afternoon. First round of games are played at 3-30pm and last round finishes around 8-00pm. Flippaball is offered to Year 5 and 6 students.
