Devon - Many amazing intercepts, pulling in high ball that we all thought was lost. Jessica - Lovely offering as GS and GA and great shooting. Grace - Great passing as Centre and making yourself available when needed. Paige - Great popping forward as GS and always being available. Sarah - Great defence, intercepts off the tallest opposition! Bella - tips all over the court well done. Courtney - Brilliant defensive game and I thought your strongest position was shooting. Syliva - Always available and lots of lovely tips in the defensive circle and intercepts!!

Gemma Bell was awarded the Fair Play Award - Gemma worked hard the whole game and put into practice what we had been working on at training. I saw lots of tips of the ball and improved eye's up on the ball on defence, nice work! Combined Coaches award went to Jorgia Bult and Jeri Wilkinson for taking their feet to the ball which meant more and cleaner intercepts! Well done girls, great to watch. You all deserved the win tonight, the final hooter went just 1 minute too early!!!!

Fair Play went to Kayla Leslie for her determination in marking the kauri tree opponent. You were worried but you dominated and got lots of intercepts and forced them to make some error's - well done. Coaches award went to Jeri Wilkinson for dodging and driving without bunching. You created space and made yourself available within the confines of the goal circle really well.

Fair Play award went to Mia Rua for her improvement on watching the ball when defending - well done, you picked up a lot more intercepts! Coaches award for clearing out when bunching went to Tayla, I could see you physically looking around to see where the others where and clearing out when everyone was driving to the same space - Well done.

Special mention to Bella who worked hard and showed marked improvement in the goal circle as a shooter - fair play award, well done. Emilie was awarded coaches award for getting involved on defense and making it hard for the opposition to get free, lots of intercepts and winning loose balls, well done.

Fair Play was awarded to Mia Rua. Some great passing under the goal Mia, nice feeding in to our shooter. Jeri was awarded the coaches award for driving back on her player quickly and effectively to keep (him)/her out of the game and got up into the air on many occasions to some great intercepts. A shame the score didn't reflect the great defensive game you all had.

Well done Devon Thorpe for being awarded the Fair Play Award - you made it easy for the team to keep moving down the court with your fast confident drives to space and then realising some great passes. Nice work Courtney Charles making yourself available for passes by clearing out and away from the bunch!!! This made it easy to award you with the coaches award for the game.

A fantastic game - Mairangi Bay were coming joint top with Red Beach so I thought it was going to be a really tough game for the boys. But as the score shows - Greenhithe were all over them - they did not stand a chance from start to finish. Well Done boys - I am really proud of you.

Kayla - a very nice defensive game, you picked up many intercepts down in the defensive circle even though you were marking a very tall shooter, well done on your persistance and perserverance. Mia - lovely to see you working so hard to put into practice what we learnt at training, well done on some very restrictive defensive marking.

Great second half game, we were still asleep in the first half. The team is coming along really well for first year hockey players. Keep up the good work guys and hopefully you are all enjoying it as well.

Other special mentions: Jeri Wilkinson - fair play award - nice game Jeri. Maren Howarth - Coaches award for driving forward and pivoting quickly - even though you had players trying to catch a lift on your back you still drove hard got some really nice ball. Well done.

Great game I'n wet conditions . Both very even teams well done.

The girls were amazing. They looked for the spacing and drove the ball down court to our goal area. With the help of Zion (GA) providing fantastic ball feeding, Eden (GS) was able to net the ball with relative ease. At half time we were leading but the St John Dolphins pulled back as unfortunately we were not able to score any more goals. However the team managed the substitutions really well and remembered their areas of play on court. A well deserved draw for the whole team who gave 100% on the day.

A bad start... but the girls put their heads down and gave it everything they had to try climb back - Thats what its all about - Awesome !!!!!

A relatively easy first half for Tilly, our sweeper, and two great goals from Grace and another from Imogen. So at half time we decided to give Tilly a run around and Giselle was desperate to play as sweeper. My goodness, what an amazing display of goalkeeping by Giselle - our worthy player of the day!

Absolutely exceptional game by my girls. The score did not reflect the game as we had 14 atte,pts at goal and only got 1 in. Well done my Jewels!!!

Notable performances also from Sarah Taylor and Paige Stevenson. Sarah gave her all the whole game and never gave up, driving forward very well, well done Sarah. Paige, having taken a heavy fall in the first quarter, got back on during the quarter break and played a lovely game. The opposition were huge and intimidating however our - what looked like very small girls - gave their all and played some good netball.
