Writing Fairy Tales

We have been reading lots of Fairy Tales to find out about how to write them.  Come into Room 12 to see some of the activities we've been doing.

We have been learning to write the beginning of a Fairy Tale (the orientation).  Here are some of the orientations we have written....

Once upon a time in an enormous mansion there lived a rich family.   The dad was ENORMOUSLY TALL. The mum was tall as well and there was a tiny little girl called Blueberry because she had blue eyes the colour of blueberries.

Long, long ago in a cottage by a beautiful peach tree there lived a young girl called Peaches. She was called this because she loved eating peaches for her tea. She had little blue eyes like the sea. She had middle-size hair that was the colour of brown chocolate.

Long, long ago, in the kingdom of Door, there was a young princess. She had amazing long hair. It was so long that she had to carry it over her shoulder! Her friends all called her Long Hair Lucy.

Long, long ago at Westlake Girls High School there was a teenager named Twinkle. The reason she was named Twinkle was because her eyes Twinkled a lot. Twinkle had skin the colour of peaches. She had long blonde curly hair. Twinkle always had an ENORMOUS smile.

Once upon a time in middle of the forest where no one ever went there lived a girl that was 10 years old. She had red hair like roses. Her skin was the colour of peaches. She had the name Rosemary because of her hair. She had a German Shepherd called Wispa.

Once upon a time there lived a young boy called Guitar Boy. He was called that because he always played his guitar. He had blonde hair and blue eyes the colour of the sea. He lived in a spooky forest.
