At Greenhithe School, we foster a culture of digital innovation and creation. Students actively engage with a diverse range of digital tools to collaborate on projects, approach challenges with creative problem-solving, develop innovative solutions, and confidently express their ideas through digital mediums. They become digitally fluent learners, thoughtfully selecting and articulating their reasons for using specific technologies, such as creating video explanations for concepts or co-creating ideas in shared Google documents.
We believe in empowering students to be creators of digital solutions, not just consumers. Digital technology is seamlessly woven into learning across all curriculum areas to achieve this. Our students develop essential digital skills, starting with tangible programming experiences (like sequencing actions physically) and progressing to online coding platforms like Scratch. They also explore the exciting world of robotics using tools like Blue-Bots (controlled by direct instructions) and Ozobots (programmed through drawing and online applications).
Greenhithe School provides a well-resourced digital learning environment for all our students. In Years 1 and 2, students learn with iPads. From years 3 to 6, Chromebooks and iPads are utilized. For students in Years 4, 5, and 6 who wish to bring their own device, our BYOD program is available. Please refer to our BYOD policy for more information.
