Principal’s News

Dear parents,

Todays’ Cultural Whānau morning is something we have tried to do since I became principal! With either weather or Covid restrictions causing the cancellation! This year we were determined to go ahead, despite the disrupted start. Thank you for coming in and sharing the morning with us. It is wonderful to be having our community events again.

Swimming Pool

After weather influenced delays and some material shortages we have finally been able to restore the swimming pool! It has been filled over this week and Maeke is working hard to prepare the pool for next week. We get no Ministry funding for the pool, so without your school donations it is something we would be unable to keep running, with ongoing maintenance costs. The children will be enjoying this facility from next week. Your child’s teacher will provide details of their swimming days.

Raising Money

Thank you for supporting the gold coin donations today for the non uniform day to raise money for flood ravaged areas of New Zealand. We raised over $1000 for these areas. This is our highest charity fundraiser from a non uniform day.

Greenhithe Community

Our school is part of a wonderful community. I would like to take a moment to thank an amazing group of people in our community. I’d like to acknowledge the work of the volunteer fire brigade. The recent tragic events in Muriwai have shown the immense dedication and sacrifice these amazing people make to keep their communities safe. Our Greenhithe Fire Brigade are always at the centre of our community events, support the school with our fire safety and were a great support in the recent weather events. Thank you for all you do.

School Donations and Activity Contributions

These donations and contributions allow us to be able to run special days at school, have amazing trips for your children and keep the swimming pool running! Thank you for supporting us to give your child the best opportunities we can.

School Donation – $55 per term or $220 for the whole school year (this is the same as previous

years, however the discount for early payment has been removed). The amount for 3rd or

subsequent children will remain at $37.50 per term or $150 for the whole school year.

Classroom Activity Contributions – $40 per term or $160 for the whole school year.

Kindo is our preferred method for all your school payments. We also have links for you to follow on our school website in the Community Connect section or in the drop down on the Info tab.

If you have any trouble setting up your Kindo account, please follow the help links on the Kindo website.
